The following code has been added to the AESTIR Appendix A - Commodity Filing Response Messages. The AESTIR Appendix A is located at the link: https://www.cbp.gov/trade/aes/aestir/appendices Response Code: 5C2 Narrative Text: DDTC COMMODITY JURISDICTION NBR UNKNOWN Severity: FATAL Proprietary Record ID/Data Elements: Input ODT Record/DDTC Commodity Jurisdiction (CJ) Number X.12 Segment ID/Data Elements: X117 Reason: The License Code/USML Category XXI Code declared is one that requires a DDTC Commodity Jurisdiction (CJ) Number on the ODT record either reported empty or unknown in AES. Resolution: The DDTC Commodity Jurisdiction (CJ) Number reported on the ODT record must be a known value in AES. Verify, correct, and retransmit. For further assistance, contact the licensing agency. The Department of State/Directorate of Defense Trade Controls/Licensing Division can be reached at 202-663-2700. Updates have also been added to CBP Proprietary Commodity Format and ANSI X-12: 601 Export Shipment Information under the AESTIR Commodity Formats section.
