CSMS #49032371 - The Consumer Product Safety Commission Status Notification (SO) Messaging Update U.S. Customs and Border Protection sent this bulletin at 08/10/2021 04:59 PM EDT Cargo Systems Messaging Service CSMS #49032371 - The Consumer Product Safety Commission Status Notification (SO) Messaging Update The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has updated guidance at www.cpsc.gov/imports . The following PGA status notification (SO) messages will be utilized by CPSC starting no earlier than August 10th that support the Hold coordination at the port or at the importer’s premises. ·Hold Intact with Document Review (Status code 02; reason code 25; subreason code 132) · Documents Required (status code 10; reason code 90) When receiving these messages, trade must submit the necessary documents into DIS. Please remember to include code ‘CPS’ when submitting them. Also, as part of this technical update, CPSC will provide trade with Notices of Conditional Release for Exam (CPSC Form 354) when a Hold Intact or Hold Intact with Document Review is transmitted. When this document is available, trade will receive an SO message with a PGA line level status code 15 and reason code 95. Brokers can retrieve this form directly from their ACE Portal account in the PGA Documents folder. Currently, CPSC is the only Partner Government Agency providing documents to trade in this manner. CPSC is continuing communication with all filers regarding this process and its impact through the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America, Inc., Trade Support Network sessions and other association meetings.
