CSMS #42640686 - The USDA Agriculture Marketing Service IG has been Updated U.S. Customs and Border Protection sent this bulletin at 05/08/2020 03:26 PM EDT Cargo Systems Messaging Service CSMS # 42640686 - The USDA Agriculture Marketing Service IG has been Updated The USDA Agriculture Marketing Service (AMS) Implementation Guide has been updated. This includes the addition of the National Organics Program message set, which is now available in Production. It also includes updates to the other AMS programs—Marketing Order, Eggs, Peanuts. Please review the change log for specific updates. (NOTE: While IG updates were made to those other program requirements, ACE is not yet enforcing their associated updated business rules.) As a reminder: AMS has flagged the associated organics HTS codes with either AM7 or AM8. However, as with all of the USDA/AMS programs, the National Organics Program is NOT currently mandatory in ACE. Therefore, if trade does not provide the AMS data per the HTS flag, the entry can be accepted and trade will receive a warning error message. AMS is working on a notice of proposed rulemaking to require their data in ACE, but that is not expected for at least one year.
